A Lifetime Once

A Lifetime Once

I spent a lifetime here once.
As a child, I waded in the streams, played in the ocean, climbed coconut trees, and snacked on Rambutan.
I got older and ventured deeper into the jungle. My friends and family warned me of a great darkness, begged me to venture no further.
I was drawn in. I disappeared for a while. Within the darkness and the mist was a whisper that tickled my notions of reality. It was too quiet to be heard in the land of the light.
When I emerged from the jungle, my friends and family were nowhere to be found.
It no longer felt like home.
I made a canoe and drifted off to sea.
